Useful Productions was founded by Matilda Velevitch, a writer and producer with over 25 years’ experience bringing ambitious ideas to life. Her work spans award-winning theatre, large-scale global sporting events, and everything in between — including a memorable chapter running a burlesque and cabaret agency.

Her acclaimed production Three Mothers toured the UK and received multiple awards, cementing her reputation for creating work that resonates with audiences and critics alike.

Alongside her work in performance, Matilda has a deep-rooted passion for food as a space for connection and creativity. She is the founder of In the Mix, a kitchen collective centred on collaboration and shared experience, and a Director of 9Kitchens, a social impact catering company.

Useful Productions often explores themes of migration, identity, and human connection and collaborates with artists, organisations, and communities to create bold, meaningful, and occasionally unexpected work.
